Ugandan Rugby side Kobs has officially launched the KOBs at 60 celebrations.
Uganda’s oldest rugby club, instituted in 1963, will mark 60 years of existence this year and has lined up a number of activities to celebrate the milestone.
The 13-time league champions have on Wednesday announced Human Diagnostics Uganda LTD (HUMAN), the distributors of OraQuick HIV Self-Test kits, as one of the partners.
HUMAN seeks to join key stakeholders in the mission to end AIDS by 2030 by actively engaging in community-enriching programs to diversely spread the message about HIV Self-Testing.

The title decider between Kobs and Stanbic Black Pirates was expected to be a tightly contested one but turned out one-sided as the Sea Robbers cruised to the second Nile Special Rugby League title.

“On Thursday, 8th June, we welcome KOBS RFC health partner HUMAN diagnostics as we also launch KOBs @60 celebrations that will have a series of activities revolving around Strategic Partnerships, Development Partners, the Alumni, the Current, the Fans, and the Community,” a communication from Kobs chairman Tonny Stone Luggya revealed on Wednesday.
“We plan to hold a two-day medical camp at the first 2023 Rugby 7s Circuit (1-2 July), a KOBs Charity Car Wash and Vets Game (5th August 2023), KOBs RFC & Golf Dinner at Golf Club Entebbe (26th August 2023), KOBs Vets Vs KOBs Current (16th September 2023), The Edward Kitaka International 10s Tournament (29th - 30th September 2023), Naguru Charity Drive (11th November 2023) and the KOBs @60 Dinner on 24th November which will culminate the festivities.”

RUGBY Ivan Magomu talks big after winning Real Stars Award
He scored 13 points in the game that decided the league as Pirates defeated Kobs 23-07 at Legends to end the season in celebration.
Kobs is the oldest rugby club in Uganda, with a club record of 13 National League Championships, 8 Uganda Cup titles, 7 Makerere Tens titles, eight club sevens titles, among other titles.
The club had the opportunity of landing their 14th league title but lost 23-07 to Stanbic Black Pirates in the last game of the season to let it slip.
