Kobs captain Ian Munyani sounded confident before the team’s short trip across Jinja Road to face Toyota Buffaloes at Kyadondo.
He emphasized the need for the Legends outfit to build momentum and move on from that heart-breaking 17-15 loss to Platinum Credit Heathens.
The trip across bore fruits as Kobs defeated Buffaloes 32-03 to make it two wins in two games since that loss.
Pius Ogena opened the scoring against his former side before Karim Arinaitwe added another try, which Joseph Aredo converted to give Brian Makalama’s side a 12-00 halftime lead.
The Blue Army added another three tries, Ogena and Arinaitwe completing a brace each, while Munyani got the last try with time running down.
Aredo’s boot accounted for seven of the 32 points as the flyhalf continues with his good kicking season.
Liam Walker got Charles Onen’s side on the score sheet with a converted penalty at the start of the second stanza.
On course
Stanbic Black Pirates defeated Mongers 43-12 in Entebbe to maintain their winning start to the season.
And with two points separating the top two sides, every point will count. The Sea Robbers have now moved to 23 points, while Kobs are on 21.
Kobs travel to King’s Park on February 25 and must ensure the gap between them and Pirates does not stretch before that.
Heathens, meanwhile, edged Jinja Hippos 32-24 in a thrilling encounter at the Dam Waters, Jinja but left with no bonus point.
Makerere Impis made it five wins in five games after a 20-15 victory over Rhinos at Legends. Walukuba Barbarians beat Mulago Rams 16-11 to get their first win of the season.
