Defeat at home to Pirates and failure to get a bonus point win against the Jinja Hippos all but buried Heathens' chances in the title race.
The Platinum Credit Heathens will head into their final two match days aware that retaining the Nile Special Rugby Premiership will require more than a miracle.
Defeat at home to Pirates and failure to get a bonus point win against the Jinja Hippos all but buried Heathens' chances in the title race.
Club captain Michael Wokorach tells Pulse Sports that it's been a tough season for them, with player suspensions and losing momentum being the significant factors.
"It's a tough moment, I haven't been part of the team for a while, and we lost momentum along the way," Wokorach stated.
"We've also struggled with most of our players being banned in Charles Uhuru and Cyrus Wathum, which wasn't fair."
Forward and Vice-captain Charles Uhuru got a fifteen weeks suspension for dangerous play on Adrian Kasito during the Lions Cup match at Legends.

Kobs have since moved to 66 points to top the log, while Pirates, now on 65, are second with three games to play.
In contrast, Cyrus Wathum got a six-game suspension for a shoulder charge against the Toyota Buffaloes.
'Gonya', as he is fondly called, added the current situation that includes Heathens sitting third on the log makes it hard for them to retain the title.
"We lost to Pirates and also lost a bonus point to Hippos, so basically, our chances of retaining the league are impossible because even if we get bonus points in the remaining games, it's still hard," he noted.
"It's not possible; it would be a miracle; it's a tall order. That is why we are now focused on winning the remaining games with bonus points, ending the season on a high and preparing for the next campaign."
Having just returned from the World Challenger series with the Rugby sevens side, Wokorach is a doubt for the penultimate season game against Mongers. Still, he will undoubtedly motivate the boys to win the game.
