Wambua has made just one change to the side that delivered victory at the 2023 Safari Sevens tournament.

Kenya Sevens boss Kevin ‘Bling’ Wambua has named the Shujaa squad that will be heading to Dubai on Monday for the first leg of the Challenger Series which will commence next weekend.

Wambua has retained a majority of the players that helped deliver the 2023 Safari Sevens Tournament on home soil, but has dropped Herman Humwa, while bringing back George ‘Japolo’ Ooro, who had missed the squad due to injury.

Wambua has also named Brian Mutugi in his squad after the talented Mwamba winger enjoyed a proper debut tournament with Shujaa in November.

Shujaa co-captains

Vincent Onyala and Anthony Omondi will continue to lead the squad as captains, while Kevin Wekesa, John Okoth, and Brian Tanga retain their positions.

There aren’t any other real surprises to the team, and Kenyans will now be optimistic and hopeful that they will deliver in their quest to return to the World Series at the first time of asking.

The Lionesses squad is also expected to be named imminently by coach Dennis Mwanja.
