The win was also Kobs’ seventh in a row after recovering from that dramatic 17-15 loss to Heathens on Match Day Three.
Kobs were the biggest winners from the Nile Special Rugby Premier League games played Saturday to start the second round.
While both Platinum Credit Heathens and Stanbic Black Pirates failed to get the much-needed bonus points, Brian Makalama’s side visited Entebbe and returned to Kampala with maximum points.
Kobs demolished Plascon Mongers 50-12 to maintain their good run of form and stay on top of the log.
The victory, coupled with the Heathens’ failure to get a bonus point in their tightly-contested 24-14 win over Makerere Impis, saw Kobs create a one-point advantage in the title race.
The five points took Kobs to 45 while Heathens moved to 44.
The win was also Kobs’ seventh in a row after recovering from that dramatic 17-15 loss to Heathens on Match Day Three.
Kobs’ title challengers won their games but without bonus points.
Defending champions Heathens were in an early kick-off clash with Impis at the Graveyard and only left with four points.
Scot Oluoch, eventually named man of the match, scored a hattrick of tries while Michael Amolo added another for Muhammad Athiyo’s charges.
But Impis responded with two tries of their own from Keneddy Muhumuza and Roy Kizito. Robert Ssentongo was successful with the two Impis conversions.
When Heathens stepped off the pitch, it was the Pirates’ turn to hunt for victory.
The Sea Robbers got the win but left one point behind to drag their feet in the title race.
Jones Kamiza, Ivan Kabagambe, Jeremiah Josenu and Ivan Magomu crossed the white chalk for Marvin Odongo’s troops.
Magomu added two conversions and a penalty while Conrad Wanyama also split the uprights with a penalty of his own as Pirates won 33-20 against the resilient Rams side fighting to get off the bottom of the table.
Meanwhile, Walukuba Barbarians defeated Rhinos 18-09 for their third win of the season to leapfrog Mongers into seventh place.
Toyota Buffaloes also beat Jinja Hippos to jump into fourth place and send the Hippos to fifth.
