The top three teams from the Olympic pre-qualifiers will progress to the Africa Cup Sevens in Zimbabwe later in September.
Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has announced a twelve-man team that will participate in the 2024 Olympic pre-qualifiers in Mauritius on June 24 and 25.
Since Steve Lewis' appointment as coach last month, this is the first team he has named. Lewis noted that the goal of the squad selection, which includes players from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States, is to reestablish Nigeria on the rugby world map following the nation's suspension by World Rugby.

Nigeria Rugby to Camp in England ahead of Olympic Games qualifiers
The Black Stallions are competing against Ghana, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and they are aiming for a top-three finish to advance to the next round of the tournament, the Africa Cup Sevens, which will be held in Zimbabwe.
Lewis reiterated the NRFF's dedication to reviving domestic rugby competitions.
The Scotsman confirmed that the players were drawn primarily from the UK-based.
He said, “Congratulations to the players selected to re-launch Nigeria rugby into the international arena in Mauritius.
“For this tournament, players have been drawn primarily from the UK-based Nigerian exiles team who have been competing regularly against top-class opposition this summer.
“Meanwhile, for the longer-term growth of Nigerian rugby, the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation intends to re-establish domestic competitions to develop domestic talents and grow the game in Nigeria, as well as incorporating those Nigerian players in the diaspora, be it the UK, the US or elsewhere.
