In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Rugby Agency, alongside the Uganda Rugby Union, Kyadondo Rugby Club, and key stakeholders, is set to host a medical camp for rugby players, enthusiasts, and residents of the surrounding areas.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, this event aims to provide essential healthcare services, including free medical check-ups, consultations, and basic laboratory tests for all attendees.
Comprehensive healthcare provisions will be available, such as body mass index assessments, physiotherapy consultations, dental services, blood tests, safe male circumcision, and blood donations.
Hassan Omar Wamwayi, the team leader of the Rugby Agency, emphasized the importance of this initiative as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and a gesture of gratitude to the rugby community.
"As an agency, we are dedicated to giving back to the sport and the community it represents. Rugby has bestowed so much upon us, and this medical camp is a fitting way to celebrate and express our gratitude," Wamwayi told Pulse Sports.
Wamwayi further explained that one objective of the medical camp is to ensure rugby players receive the necessary medical care following an arduous and physically demanding season.
"After a gruelling season that takes a toll on the players' physical and mental well-being, this initiative will offer them the opportunity to receive crucial medical check-ups and treatment," Wamwayi added.
The Rugby Agency team lead also highlighted that this event is not exclusive to rugby players alone but open to fans and individuals from all walks of life.
He encouraged people nationwide to take advantage of this remarkable opportunity, which promises to benefit everyone in attendance.
"Regardless of age or background, this event welcomes individuals from all corners of the country.
It's an initiative that I urge everyone to seize, enabling them to seek expert advice and consultations and gain vital knowledge about general health issues," Wamwayi emphasized.
With its comprehensive range of services and its inclusive nature, the Rugby Agency's medical camp represents a pioneering effort to promote the well-being of rugby players, fans, and the wider community.
