Menengai Cream Cheetars clinch Rugby Super Series with convincing victory over KCB Lions as Faiba Rhinos hand Kabras Sugar Buffaloes walkover in dramatic last-day Super Series action.
The Menengai Oilers Cheetahs proved they are indeed the kings of the returning 2024 Rugby Super Series after they mauled the KCB Lions 18-10 in an eventful clash that took place at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Drama engulfed what was initially supposed to be a day of action-packed rugby action as Rhinos refused to honor their match against the Cheetahs citing a lack of payment in any of the matches they have taken part in at the series.
This left the organizers with no choice but to handle the Buffaloes the win, and a subsequent third-place finish.
From the get-go, it was the Cheetars that took the game to the Lions, forcing them into making mistakes and preventing them from handling balls efficiently, making sure to pounce on any clip-ups.

Shujaa, Lionesses get a feel of Kenya’s pre-Olympics camp in Miramas ahead of major assignments
Shujaa and Lionesses have camped in Miramas, France ahead of their respective World Series playoffs and Olympics qualifiers with the city set to host Team Kenya before Paris Olympics.
This rattled the Lions players, who gave away two penalties they conceded, the first in the 20th minute, when Quinto Odongo sliced the ball through the uprights.
Although Lions restored parity in the 20th minute with a penalty of their own through Levy Amunga, the Cheetahs would convert another penalty nine minutes later through Odongo again to take the lead heading into the break.
The Lions got off to a bright start after the break, showing intent to score a well-converted try through Givens Oduor, but it only triggered the Cheetahs into making a response, with Felix Odhiambo going over the white wash for the Menengai Cheetahs to make it 11-10.
The Lions just could not get going, and the Cheetahs would make it 18-10 following a well-converted try by Ibrahim Ayoo, and now, the Nakuru-based charges were away and cruising.
