Kenya Sevens assistant coach Louis Kisia has outlined what the side has to do in order to return to the upper echelons of World Rugby in 2024.
Shujaa have been dominant since announcing a new technical bench with Kisia getting on board as assistant to Kevin Wambua while Andrew Amonde was appointed the strength and conditioning coach.

Amonde has revealed the “surprising” qualities he found in the current Shujaa players since returning to the side as an assistant coach.
They coasted their way to Olympic qualification by beating all the teams they faced in the Rugby Africa Sevens tournament held in Harare, Zimbabwe in September, including South Africa.
Last week, they then sailed to the Safari Sevens title win, and they are now preparing for the Dubai Invitational tournament in December as they step up preparations for the Challenge Series next year, with the tournaments confirmed earlier this week.

Omondi, who was named the Safari Sevens MVP, believes that their showings against strong opposition in the latter stages of the tournament will put them in a good place ahead of their World Series promotion campaign.
“Getting back to the series is achievable but not as easy as people may think,” Kisia told Pulse Sports.
“But now maintaining our status there is the tough part. That is why we need support, we need consistency, we need facilities, we need everything to ensure that the boys are up to the task and at par with all the teams that are participating in the series.”

The former Shujaa captain, who is now part of the coaching setup, has explained why they have given chances to several young players in preparation for a monumental 2024.
Aside from the four tournaments in the challenger series, Shujaa are also expected to travel to London, Fiji, and Germany for invitational tournaments to keep them match-fit and strengthen the chemistry within the playing unit ahead of the Paris Olympics.

RUGBY Kisia divulges why Shujaa have looked unstoppable since relegation from World Series
Kisia has revealed the reasons behind the camaraderie about the team, and why they have looked unbeatable under the new stewardship.
“We are going for the Dubai invitational in two weeks time - that is in early December. We will then take a short break with regards to who is going for Christmas, but we should be back toward the end of December because the first challenger series is in January.
“January is a short turnaround, so we have to be at par to go for the first challenger series in January.
“There is not much time and room to lag around, ours is just to get to work, back to basics every time we get an opportunity to train.”
The 2024 edition of the Challenger Series kicks off with combined events at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai on 12-14 January, followed by Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo, Uruguay on 8-10 March before standalone women’s and men’s events at Henryk Reyman's Municipal Stadium in Krakow, Poland and Dantestadion in Munich, Germany respectively on 18-19 May.
