Jinja Hippos captain Tawfiq Bagalana rejoined the team in the Nile Special Sevens in Kitgum.
Nile Special Sevens defending champions Jinja Hippos put up a solid performance to top their group in the ongoing Kitgum 7s.
The Hippos suffered a setback in their title defence last week after dropping out in the quarterfinals before finishing 6th on the table.
Their biggest setback was against their city rivals Walukuba Barbarians who beat them 10-7 in the groups to set them up against Kobs before the semis.

Stanbic Black Pirates, Kobs and Heathens take an early lead in the Nile Special Sevens.
However, a much more improved performance fuelled by their inspirational captain Tawfiq Bagalana saw them cruise through their Group D opponents Mongers (26-0), Lira Bulls (33-0) and Impis by 17-14 to set a rematch with Buffaloes in the main cup quarters.
Bagalana missed the first leg at their Dams Water home due of a compassionate leave after losing his father.
Buffaloes beat the defending champions in the 5th and 6th place playoffs in Jinja last week.
