Murunga has opted to make three changes to the side as he aims to get a positive result in their second WXV3 fixture at The Sevens in Dubai on Friday 20 October 2023.

Paul ‘Pau’ Murunga has named the Kenya Lionesses side to face Kazakhstan in their second WXV3 fixture at The Sevens in Dubai on Friday 20 October 2023.

The assistant coach has opted to make three changes to the side as he aims to get a positive result as Kenya seeks its first win of the inaugural tournament against the Asian side.

Maureen Chebet will make her full test debut as she slots into the second row alongside Faith Livoi, while Terry Ayesa will start ahead of Lewin Amazimbi on the wing.

An injury to Knight Otwoma, who led the team out on Saturday means captain Enid Ouma is restored to the starting line after sitting out the Lionesses’ last two matches due to injury.

She will start ahead of Michelle Akinyi in a rejigged backrow that will also feature Naomi Jelagat and Diana Kemunto.

The other four changes will be on the bench as Grace Okulu, Judith Okumu, Phoebe Akinyi and Mercy Migongo, who have joined up with the squad after taking part in the Olympic qualifying tournament in Tunisia with the sevens side.

Sharon Auma has also joined up with the team, but has not been included in the match day squad.

The Lionesses front row will remain unchanged with Rose Otieno, Staycy Atieno and Natasha Emali all starting.

The half back pairing of Diana Omosso and Anne Goretti has been retained for this fixture with Laurine Akoth partnering Prisca Nyerere in midfield.

Ayesa, Esther Juma and Freshia Juma will complete the back three.
