Wolves will face Eagles on Saturday at the Legends in the final match to find the team that will replace Rams in the Premiership.

Elgon Wolves produced two special moments in their 15-10 victory over Warriors in a semifinal of the URU Championship playoffs at Dams Water in Jinja.

Earlier on the day, Eagles had proved they are the king of the skies overcoming Gulu City Falcons 21-11 in the first semifinal.

However, the Wolves' match lit up Dams Water as Jinja Hippos and Walukuba supporters joined a handful of their Mbale counterparts to rally behind the Eastern region representatives.

Wolves showed their intentions with some energetic performance and quick reactions in the opening minutes but the Warriors used experience to soak the pressure.

Hamza Kinyai completed a team move to put the Warriors ahead after 22 minutes of play with a try and conversion but that only fired up the Wolves.

After several minutes of trying Calvin Bukahla produced arguably the best moment of the playoffs when he, against the run of play, intercepted a pass to catch the Warriors on flat foot before unleashing himself for a solo run to the line to leave it 7-7 at halftime.

Alpha Lumala pulled the Mbale side back to the lead after choosing to go for a penalty before Kinyai levelled with another for the Warriors later on.

Derrick Apolu made a similar break to Bukhala’s in the last minute of the second half to give the Wolves the much-needed win as the Warriors, who were relegated last season, dropped to the ground in disbelief.
