Achraf Hakimi's marriage to Hiba Abouk is nearly over, with their divorce already imminent.

Achraf Hakimi and his wife Hiba Abouk have since been on the verge of separation as the Paris Saint Germain star is currently being investigated having been charged with rape.

Hakimi is accused of raping a 24-year-old lady in his home in Boulogne, Paris while his wife and kids were on holiday on Sunday night, February 25, as first reported by Le Parisien.

However, Hakimi’s lawyer and representative, Fanny Colin, has since denied all the accusations, against the player.

“The accusations are false. He is calm and is making himself available to the authorities”, Colin was quoted to have said as per Le Parisien.

PSG are also yet to release an official statement on the incident amid ongoing investigations but Hakimi’s marriage is pretty much all but over.

Pulse Sports previously reported that Hakimi’s marriage to his wife Hiba Abouk had hit a stumbling block with the latter considering a divorce as the best option for the couple.

Hakimi and his Tunisian wife have been estranged for some time and have been working towards separating legally prior to the reported rape case.

1. Achraf Hakimi is NOT yet divorced from Hiba Abouk

Prior to the reports of their imminent divorce, Hakimi’s wife, Hiba Abouk had deleted some photos of herself and the Morocco international from her Instagram page.

The move came after Hakimi was accused of raping a 24-year-old lady in her absence last February.

However, Hakimi's divorce has not yet been made official, although Pulse Sports understands that both parties had begun the process to separate months before the rape case emerged.

As of the time of this report, the duo are still following each other on Instagram.

2. Achraf Hakimi is 12 years younger than his wife

Hakimi is currently 24 while his Tunisian wife is 36.

The sizeable difference in their ages is understood to be one of the reasons behind her decision to divorce the PSG wingback.

3. Hiba Abouk has labelled her marriage to Achraf Hakimi, ‘a failed project’

In an interview in March, Abouk revealed that the reason behind her desire to divorce Hakimi is because their marriage was practically done.

 El Cierre Digital, also reported the Tunisian actress wanted to enjoy a home life together with her children, Amín, 3, and Naim, 1, but Hakimi only wanted to continue partying and living like a bachelor.

4. Achraf Hakimi’s wife is currently against him amid the recent rape charges

Hakimi’s wife Hiba Abouk finally broke her silence last month since the rape reports emerged.

According to a statement released on Monday, March 27, via her official Instagram account, she began by defending her silence on the matter, before going ahead to open up on her divorce plans.

“After having taken the decision to legally separate and to stop living together whilst awaiting the divorce procedure, which you can imagine, on top of the pain brought about by the separation, as well as having to accept the sadness that a failed project, which I gave my body and soul, brings, I was supposed to face up to this disgraceful act? I needed time to come to terms with this shock,” she said in the statement as first reported by the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

“One must trust the legal process, especially considering the gravity of the accusation. Nonetheless, in my life, I always have been, and always will be, on the side of victims,” she added. 

5. Unconfirmed reports claim Achraf Hakimi willed his entire fortune to his mother

Rumours claim that Hakimi had already put his entire fortune in his mother's (Saida Mouh) name a long time ago.

 The unconfirmed reports alleged that this came to light during the divorce proceedings, by Hiba Abouk’s lawyer who found out that the PSG player had no property and no money in the bank to part with.

However, Pulse Sports cannot verify the authenticity of this claim as neither Hakimi nor his wife, Hiba confirmed the report.

6. Achraf Hakimi’s imminent divorce means that his marriage only lasted for three years

Achraf Hakimi and Hiba Abouk married in 2020, two years after meeting in 2018. 

However, an imminent divorce now means the PSG star is set to record one of the shortest marriages in football history.

7. Acharf Hakimi’s wife Hiba Abouk is one of the most popular Spanish-Tunisian actresses

Although Hakimi’s wife Hiba Aboukhris Benslimane was born in Madrid, the youngest of four siblings, she is of Tunisian and Libyan descent.

 Her parents had earlier settled in Spain after emigrating from Tunisia. 

Habouk is known for her roles in television series, especially that of Fátima in El Príncipe.

She studied at the French Lycée in Madrid until age 18. 

Later she studied Arabic philology, and she earned a licentiate degree in drama from the RESAD.

Her acting career really started in 2010, and she has featured in six movies.

In 2012 she became part of the regular cast of the comedy series of Antena 3 Con el culo al aire, in which she participated in the first two seasons, before making her debut in El Príncipe, a crime drama series on Spanish free-to-air channel Telecinco.

The show which is usually watched by more than five million viewers saw her play first leading role in 2014.
