The stadium witnessed its first game on the same day ahead of the start of the 2006/07 Premier League season.

To celebrate 18 years since the first game at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners had to remember some legends.

The Gunners took on Aston Villa and after a scoreless first half the visitors went ahead through a goal by defender Olaf Mellberg.

It was Brazilian midfielder Gilberto who would salvage a draw for the Gunners in their first game there.

The photos that went viral of that game show legends of the club such as Cesc Fabregas, Kolo Toure, Theo Walcott, and Captain Thierry Henry.

The celebration comes after Bukayo Saka was the hero as they started the new season with a comfortable win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Gunners were previously at Highbury a smaller compact arena but the Manager at the time Arsene Wenger led them to their new arena.

Arsenal spent 93 years at Highbury from 1913 till 2006 until they moved to the Emirates Stadium.
