A year after calling time on his career in international football, Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has rejoined the Gabonese national team. 

Aubameyang returns to the Gabon team following the influence of President Ali Bongo Ondimba. 

After a tough season with Chelsea, Aubemayang returns to the national team fold despite a previous tense relationship with the Gabonese Football Association. 

Aubameyang to get Gabon number 9 jersey

According to reports, Aubameyang, who has 30 goals in 72 games, returns in style.

He will reportedly get the number nine jersey from  Al-Shabab striker Aaron Boupendza.

Aubameyang took to his official social media platforms to announce his return to the Gabon national team.

Aubameyang will aim to make his return for the Panthers of Gabon in their next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, scheduled for Sunday, June 18, 2023.
