Argentina International Enzo Fernandez has broken his silence after his debut for Chelsea.
Fernandez joined Chelsea from Benfica for a Premier League record fee on the winter transfer window deadline day.
The 22-year-old midfielder featured for 90 minutes as Chelsea labored to a disappointing 0-0 draw against Fulham on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Fernandez made six tackles, three clearances and won eight duels from a deep-lying midfield position.
Fernandez gives Chelsea fans hope
Brought in as a reinforcement for Chelsea in midfield, Fernandez left an impression on his debut.
Fernandez a key part of the Argentina side that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is now expected to help Chelsea climb back up the table.
Despite Chelsea being unable to get a win in front of a full Stamford Bridge, Fernandez offered optimism ahead of the season.
In a post on his official social media platforms, Fernandez gave glory to God praised the teams' effort, and thanked the fans for their support.
The message by Fernandez said, "Very happy with the group’s effort. It is not the result we wanted, but let's keep working for the good results to come.
"Thank you to the fans for the reception and support last night! I am very happy for the debut and to be a Blue! Thank You God!"
Fernandez will aim to help Chelsea back on track when they travel to face West Ham in another London derby scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2023.
