At the most recent national trials, he posted a time of 24.72, settling for the third position in his heat.

The result is also his personal best.

Uganda Police athlete Allan Ngobi posted 21.08, followed by Adoli Haron of Uganda Prisons, who registered 21.16, and Jagalo Joshua of Uganda Police, who posted 21.85 to earn their positions in the national team.

Kampala is determined to make arguing that he is a beginner.

“My first national trials at Namboole Stadium. Well, in, acceptable performance in the 200m, where I came third. There is still a lot of room for improvement”, he posted on Instagram.

“I am only four months in the sport”, he added.

Kampala is also a student of St Mary’s College, Kisubi.
