However, as he valiantly polished off his fifteenth egg, the unthinkable occurred. Kapkeno dramatically collapsed, leaving those around him initially believing it was an elaborate stunt.
A die-hard Manchester United supporter has made an impassioned plea to the club, seeking solace and an opportunity to witness his beloved team play at Old Trafford.
This appeal follows a near-death encounter he endured as a consequence of a quirky pledge.
Kenyan citizen Thomas Kiptanui Kemboi, affectionately known as Kapkeno, had vowed to consume a tray of boiled eggs if Manchester United faced defeat against Arsenal in their recent English Premier League meeting at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
Manchester United lost 3-1 to Arsenal in an entertaining encounter. United took the lead through Marcus Rashford, but martin Odegaard levelled two minutes later.
The Red Devils thought they had won the match when Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench to second their second goal, only for VAR to rule it offside.
Arsenal broke Man Utd fans' hearts when new acquisition Declan Rice struck in added time, before Gabriel Jesus sealed the win with a sweet slot having left Diogo Dalot mopping the floor at the Emirates and goalkeeper Andre Onana wrong-footed.
Kapkeno, true to his word, embarked on the peculiar gastronomic feat in the company of friends, broadcasting the event live on his Facebook page.
In the video, his friends to whom he had lost the best, could be seen cheering him on as he consumed one egg after another, taking breaks to drink water.
However, as he valiantly polished off his fifteenth egg, the unthinkable occurred. Kapkeno dramatically collapsed, leaving those around him initially believing it was an elaborate stunt.
Quickly, the gravity of the situation became clear, and they rushed him to the hospital.
The aftermath of this astonishing incident saw Kapkeno experiencing symptoms that included a debilitating fever, excessive sweating, and a visibly swollen stomach.
Kapkeno was put on medication and later discharged after he stabilised.
"One minute I was energetic and ready to complete the challenge before me and the next moment I was in hospital with an IV drip on my hand,” he told the Standard, Kenya.

“I was diagnosed with constipation and was injected with three IV fluids. I am grateful that I am now doing well."
A brush with peril had transformed what started as a seemingly comical dare into a life-threatening situation.
Now, having emerged from this harrowing ordeal, Kapkeno has turned to the club he ardently supports, Manchester United, with a poignant message emblazoned on his placard;
“Dear Man United, I ate 15 eggs after promising to my fans if Arsenal will defeat us,” the placard read.
“Luckily, I am alive after being admitted to the hospital. Kindly allow me to watch a live match at Old Trafford, and I will feel better.”
Erik ten Hag’s men currently occupy 11th spot on the Premier League table with six points from their opening four games and will be hoping for improved performances after the international break.
