Serie A reminds Victor Osimhen that he is behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for Napoli with new post
A day after Napoli won their first Scudetto in 33 years, Serie A's official Twitter account once more posted a divisive picture.
The argument over whether Victor Osimhen or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the face of Napoli's title victory has dominated the discussion in the wake of their victory.
Osimhen's supporters, particularly those from Africa, feel unfairly treated by Serie A because the Nigerian striker continues to be given just a little recognition despite leading the league in goals scored.
Serie A crowns Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ahead of Victor Osimhen
A few minutes before Napoli's match versus Fiorentina, Serie A posted again, seemingly not learning from the negative feedback their last post on Saturday got.
Due to a tweet from the Italian top-flight football league, Serie A, the word racism was trending on social media in Nigeria on Saturday.
A photo of the late Diego Maradona crowning Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was shared on the official Serie A Twitter account and sparked wild reactions.
Osimhen and club captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo are now side by side in the new Serie A post, and Kvaratskhelia has once more been named Napoli's hero.
The new post comes after Osimhen was congratulated by Nigerian president-elect Bola Tinubu.
Osimhen returns to action when Napoli travels to face Monza in their next league game scheduled for Sunday, May 14, 2023.
