Mozambique and Nigeria will compete in a friendly match at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Angola held Mozambique to a 1-1 draw in a friendly game on Friday at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira.
On September 9, Mozambique required a goal from 29-year-old midfielder Clesio Bauque in the 95th minute to defeat Benin 3-2 and advance to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying round.
Chiquinho Conde's team finished second in their group, five points ahead of third-place Benin, with 10 points from six games.
They will compete against 24 other teams for continental supremacy in the Ivory Coast early next year.
Mozambique has picked up three wins and three draws in their past seven games across all competitions, with the exception of a 1-0 loss to Lesotho in the COSAFA Cup on July 10.
But the tough task of facing a rival team that has won each of their previous three games, scoring eight goals and maintaining two clean sheets since a goalless draw in March 2009 awaits the East African nation next.

A week later, they will play Algeria in the second group match hence the tune-up game against Nigeria.
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa will miss the match, and Napoli man Victor Osimhen is expected to be sidelined due to injury.

Both teams, who have already secured their spots in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, will be facing off for the first time since the Super Eagles' 4-2 triumph at the African Nations Championship in January 2014.
Friday's friendly match between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia ended in a 2-2 stalemate at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao and sparked wild reactions about goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.
Prior to the draw, Jose Paseiro's team had a run of three victories in their final three AFCON 2023 qualifying matches, winning all three while scoring 10 goals and recording two clean sheets to take first place in Group A with 15 points from six games.
Peseiro called up 25 players for this international break but Nigeria has now lost nine and drawn six of their last 15 friendlies since defeating Egypt 1-0 in March 2019 thanks to a goal from Paul Onuachu in the opening minute.
The West African powerhouse has been placed in Group A of the forthcoming continental competition alongside Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, and Ivory Coast.
They are aiming for their fourth AFCON championship and their first since defeating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final back in 2013 and branded the Let's Do It Again Theme.
On Monday, Nigeria will want to get back to winning ways as they step up their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are currently rated 40th in the most recent FIFA World Rankings.
Nigeria begins its bid to qualify for the World Cup once more after failing to get there last year with a home game against Lesotho on November 13, one week before playing Zimbabwe.
