While the country mourns the passing of former Rubaga South MP and comedian Kato Lubwama, KCCA FC will grieve an extra notch as the deceased was their diehard supporter.
The former legislature passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday at a hospital in Kajjansi after a reported heart failure.
However, during his hey-vibrant days, Lubwama confessed his love for the 'Kasasiro Boys', going on to predict that they would lift the Uganda Premier League championship in the 2018/19 season.
"Mpagila KCC kuva mu myaka nga tukyaali bavubuka (I have been a KCCA fan since my youth days)," the ever jolly star revealed to local radio station, Dembe FM back in 2018.
"Ezo Villa twazikuba nga, ate enakuzino tezisobolelako ddala. Buuza wano e Kampala abantu, buli muntu wa KCC (We used to beat SC Villa with ease and it's easier these days. Ask people around Kampala, everyone is a KCCA fan)," he added.
He would later go on to predict the Lugogo outfit would win that season's league championship, which they indeed clinched under Mike Mutebi.
"Nekino tukitwala (We are winning this one as well," he predicted, with the trophy serving as the last league triumph for KCCA.
In the past four seasons, the trophy has evaded Lugogo, with Vipers SC scooping it thrice, while the other, in the 2020/21 campaign, it went Express FC's way.
While Lubwama was a rare figure at KCCA matches in the recent times as he battled various illnesses, he was never shy to show his support at any given opportunity.
