A man in Sheema district, Uganda is on the run after reportedly stabbing a colleague following a brawl that ensued from the Arsenal-Manchester United game on Sunday.

Police have confirmed the developments, asserting that the suspect, Vincent Beinomugisha, an Arsenal fan, stabbed Jackson Aineruhanga, a Manchester United supporter, using a sharp stick.

The incident happened at around 10:40 pm in Rwanyinakahire cell, Rwamujo ward, Sheema central division in Sheema Municipality, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Martial Tumusiime.

"It is said that on September 3, 2023, in the evening hours, the suspect and the deceased developed a misunderstanding in a video hall while watching a football match between Arsenal and Manchester United football club," Tumusiime was quoted by New Vision.

"After the match, the two went to a bar of one Coleb Akanyijuka, who chased them out because they were quarrelling," he adds.

"Then, the suspect ran after the victim and stabbed him in the chest with a sharp stick, and the victim died on the spot."

According to Tumusiime, the deceased's body was taken to Kabwohe Health Centre IV as investigations in the case continue.

It should be noted that Arsenal won the match 3-1, which sparked off divergent reactions and feelings from the respective sections among the fans.

Arsenal fans in Jinja held processions on Monday to celebrate their team's victory over their bitter arch-nemesis.
