The mini-table tennis tournament is for children between the ages of seven and 15 drawn from five states.
Nothing less than 42 teenage players will participate at the Offiong Edem mini-table tennis tournament, the All Africa table tennis gold medalist Offiong Edem organize a mini-table tennis tournament for children between the ages of seven and 15 from five states.
Pulse Sports reported that the former national champion will organize the championship at the U.J. Esuene Stadium from June 1 to 3, 2023.
Participants will be drawn from Abia, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Cross River states.
The tournament which is in its third edition is organised and sponsored by the Offiong Edem Foundation which trains and supports budding table tennis players.
The Player said she will use the third edition of the tournament to donate table tennis bats, 70 pairs of tennis shoes each to the participants as a way of encouraging them.
She added that the champions will also receive prize money and as well other packages.

Omotayo was eliminated in the first round of the World table tennis championship in Durban.
“I have already spent several millions of Naira to purchase the table tennis bats, 70 pairs of canvases and other equipment to donate to outstanding kids at the 3rd edition of the tournament.
“There will also be prize money for champions in different categories. 16 females and 26 males have been invited.
“There are several young and enthusiastic table tennis players in the surrounding states who don’t have sponsors or training equipment. These budding stars need our mentorship and support,” she said.
Edem was knocked out in the first round of the World Table tennis championship in Durban and she was listed for WTT Contender in Lagos.
