Representatives of Oyo State at the ongoing Vemp Senior National Championship in Abuja keep performing wonderfully despite losing in the Male and Female Categories.
Actions continue early hours of today at the National Tennis Center, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja with a brilliant performance from the team Oyo.
In the male category, Isiaka Toriola defeated Ibrahim Amin from Abuja 6-0, 6-0, before he later lost to Sani Yaya from Abuja 6-1.
Mubarak Ganiyu defeated Olowogbile Elisha from Lagos 0-6 6-2 10-2 which made him progress to the next round where he defeated Peter Egena from Benue 1-6 6-3 10-8 and he qualified for the main draw of Vemp Senior National Championship.

TENNIS Nigeria's tennis star, Quadre sets new record in US Varsity
Quadre was admitted to Florida International University to play college tennis and continue with her studies.
Also in the female category, Imoleayo Afolabi qualified for the main draw by beating Omotayo Jatt from Lagos 4-6 6-4 10-6, Deborah Abiodun lost to Salami Mariam from Abuja 4-6 2-6 in the women's final qualifier, and Kaosarat Adegboyega also lost in the final qualifying round to Mary Udofa from Kogi 6-3 6-2.
The assistant coach, Gazah Olaitan, gave kudos to the players for their excellent performances and urged those who lost in the VEMP not to relent, as they will continue to aim for the best in the coming event.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Oyo State Tennis Association, Dr. Mogaji Akin Fagbemi who are with the players in Abuja noted that they will perform better and reach the final stage in the coming event.
