The new dates will see teams arrive for the tournament on August 14th before the technical meeting scheduled for the next day.
The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) has revised the dates for the 2023 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship dates.
The tournament was initially slated to start on August 6th but has now been pushed by over a week.
“Following the deadline for registration to participate in the championship, kindly be advised that CAVB, in consultation with the host Cameroon Volleyball Federation, have revised the dates for the championship,” a statement released by CAVB noted.
The new dates will see teams arrive for the tournament on August 14th before the technical meeting scheduled for the next day.
The action will then get underway on August 16th and run through the 24th.
“We would like to apologize for rescheduling the event and seek for your continued cooperation that will ensure the success of the championship.”
The communication came at a time the Uganda Lady Volleyball Cranes had increased sessions from one to two in a week.
The team confirmed interest in playing at the championship this year and started early training in April.
CAVB’s postponement will now allow head coach Tonny Lakony and his charges more time for preparations.
