VOLLEYBALL KCCA’s Zainah Kagoya says teamwork led them to the National Volleyball League title
Kagoya played a massive role in the team’s success; her block in the middle and occasional attacks helped Shilla Omuriwe’s side take charge of the finals.
KCCA’s victory qualified them for a place at next year’s Africa Club Championship, and different speakers urged the authority to support the team.
“It will be very important if these ladies get the opportunity to represent Uganda. That is what they have been working for,” Uganda Volleyball Federation First Vice President Ahmed Kigunddu said.
In response, the Lord Mayor assured the team of the authority’s support.
The authority also gifted the team UGX 10m as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
KCCA’s last league title had come in 2006.
