Kenya aiming for victory in the Women's African Nations Volleyball Championship Group B showdown on Thursday.

Kenya women’s volleyball national team, Malkia Strikers are set to face off against Burkina Faso in a Group B clash at the Women's African Nations Volleyball Championship.

The match, taking place at Salle Paposy Arena in Yaounde, Cameroon promises an intense battle of skill, strategy, and determination on Thursday afternoon.

Having warmed up for the tournament with a resounding victory in which Malkia Strikers displayed their dominance by overpowering Rwanda in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-17). 

The Kenyan team's exceptional performance during the clash against their East African rivals only underscored their formidable form. 

Veronica Adhiambo took center stage as she notched up an impressive game-high of 14 points, leaving spectators in awe of her prowess on the court.

Debutant Loice Simiyu made an impactful entrance, securing double digits with an admirable 12 points. 

Adding to the dynamic lineup, Mercy Moim contributed 10 points for Kenya, solidifying their unified offensive strategy.

The stakes are exceptionally high in this championship, with victory not only bringing honor and glory but also an Olympic Games ticket. 

Assistant coach Paul Bitok acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead, particularly against strong competitors like Cameroon and Egypt.

“Cameroon have been our strong competitors for a long time, as well as Egypt, so it will not be easy against them,” said assistant coach Paul Bitok as per Citizen Digital. “We are watching these teams keenly."

As the anticipation mounts and the teams prepare to step onto the court, all eyes will be fixated on the captivating clash between Kenya and Burkina Faso.
