Andrew Okapis’ charges have collected 26 points from 16 games and remain two points behind OBB.
Nemostars must beat OBB when the two sides meet on Saturday to retain any hopes of making the National Volleyball League Playoffs.
Andrew Okapis’ charges have collected 26 points from 16 games and remain two behind OBB.
The Iganga-based side are fourth on the log, having garnered 28 points from 15 games, and victory over Nemostars will take them three or four points ahead of the six-time winners.
The first three positions on the table are occupied by Sport-S, KAVC and UCU Doves.
OBB can overtake UCU by winning their remaining three games of the regular season.
The university side has an 11-5 record and 30 points with two games to play before the playoffs.
Failure to make the playoffs will further highlight Nemostars’ decline.
Having won the league four league titles in a row between 2015 and 2019, Nemostars will want to forget the last two years quickly.
Losing the league title to OBB after leading the three-game series and failing to get out of the group in the National Club Championship are some of the team’s predicaments in the last year.
There have also been defeats against sides like Ndejje Sharks and KCCA to emphasize the team’s tough times further this season.
With the last two games coming in quick succession on Saturday and Sunday, Nemostars will go into their final regular season game against already relegated Nkumba Navy well aware of their fate.
The other Saturday fixtures will see table leaders Sport-S taking on Nkumba while KCCA face Tigers.
