Following Uganda’s 3-0 demolition of Lesotho in their first game of the 2023 CAVB Women’s African Nations Championship, head coach Tonny Lakony has expressed shock and surprise by the opponent’s poor show.
Speaking after the game, the Uganda tactician revealed the Southern Africa side didn’t no compete to give the Lady Cranes a test.
“The opponent didn’t quite show up as we expected them to, maybe because of our level and pressure we put on them,” Lakony said.

Pooled in Group B, Uganda must be in the top four sides to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Next on the schedule for Uganda is a clash with Morocco on Wednesday.
