The club withdrawal leaves KPA as the country's only representative at the upcoming continental showpiece.

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men's league side Trailblazers have pulled out of the Africa Club Championships set for May 8 to 21 in Tunis, Tunisia, due to financial constraints.

Trailblazers' withdrawal leaves champions Kenya Ports Authority as the country's only representative at the upcoming continental show-piece.

Trailblazers had been invited to the competition after the league champions GSU withdrew due to unavoidable circumstances.

"We regret to inform you that Trailblazers Volleyball Club will not be participating in the 2022/2023 African Club Championships in Tunisia due to a lack of sponsorship to facilitate the team's travel to the tournament," the Club said in a statement.

"Despite our best efforts, the Club's management was unable to secure the necessary funding, and we missed the registration deadline.

"However, we remain committed to our goal of becoming the best volleyball club in the country, and we are actively working towards securing a long-term sponsorship deal that will prevent such setbacks in the future.

"We understand the disappointment this news brings to our players and fans, but we urge you to continue supporting the team in the same way you have always done."

Trailblazers finished third in the league after recording a resounding 3-0 win in the playoff played in August 2022.

GSU, on their side, clinched the title for the fifth time in a row after overcoming a stiff challenge to beat Kenya Ports Authority 3-1
